We have the fabulous experts at Knowsley Archives supporting volunteers. We’re busy exploring local maps, documents, and contemporary accounts to unearth and share the farming and food heritage facts and stories of Knowsley.
Our existing research loving volunteers have been fully trained and are spending Wednesdays digging in to the maps, documents, and historical records to unearth the farming history at Knowsley Archives. Doing what they enjoy and unearthing Knowsley’s past to share with us all.
So far, we’ve unearthed fantastic history on Kirkby, including evidence of the oldest farms from the area. Over the coming weeks we’ll be looking into the other areas. It’s not too late to join us on Wednesday afternoons, we’d love to have your help!
