Join in, let’s explore, preserve, and celebrate Knowsley’s incredible food and farming story. Your skills, creativity, and memories are key to bringing this rich heritage to life!
We’ve been spending time at Stockbridge Village with Kirsty, our crafting expert, running craft sessions with the local families. Potatoes, and other natural objects with links to Knowsley’s heritage, have been used to create a community tablecloth and napkins. Teaming up with Play Streets, run by StockyWhizzKidz, to run craft sessions has meant more children have been getting involved in the project too.
Contribute with your creative skills!
Are you creative? From crocheting and knitting, to drawing and metal or woodworking, and art with nature or poetry. Share your creativity and beautiful visual pieces for our exhibition. Join us, it’s a fun, hands-on way to contribute your artistic talents and create something meaningful. Contact us to take part – tell us how you want to get involved in creative crafting or any of the other areas of the project.
This area of the project is supported by our Kirsty Tanner, artist, maker and horticulturalist. Kirsty works across materials and processes from jewellery and print to painting, collage and textiles. With her love of creating opportunities for communities to make, play and grow, Kirsty will meld artistic direction with honouring Knowsley’s past and future.
“I am really looking forward to delving into Knowsley’s agricultural history and discovering the crafts and skills of current and historical communities. It will be great to work with a wide range of residents, explore materials and processes and create new work and have fun!”
Meet our other creative experts. Whether you’ve got a knack for research, love telling stories, or want to get hands-on in creative workshops, there’s something for you! Join in and at the end of it all our exhibition will include pieces you have created, that everyone can explore, to help capture and bring to life Knowsley’s heritage.
