Join in, we’re exploring, preserving, and celebrating Knowsley’s incredible food and farming story. Your skills, creativity, and memories are key to bringing this rich heritage to life!
Do you have a story to share of Knowsley’s farming past? Join the farming families we’ve already made contact with and share your experience.
Or perhaps you’d like to help others share their memories? We’re going to work with students from the local college. In addition, we’re looking for some youth groups to get involved. Story-capturing and editing will be guided by our experts so you’ll develop your skills too.
Contact us to take part in storytelling or any of the other areas of the project.
Our storytelling experts Laura Yates and Edwin Pink, have worked together for over 20 years. With a working knowledge of the importance of food to communities, they bring a wealth of complimentary experience and skills. Laura, participation specialist, creative project leader and writer, and Edwin, creative producer and digital storyteller, want to work with you to capture memories of Knowsley’s food and farming heritage.
“I am excited to be working on the Feedback ‘Growing Knowsley’s Future – Celebrating Our Agricultural Past’ project, collaborating with local people. We are looking to capture some interesting heritage stories which will hopefully provide a platform for examining the past, present and future of food in Knowsley.”
We’re hoping to capture 12 personal stories from people with living memories. Culminating in these stories being showcased in our final exhibition, shining a light on the people who lived and worked the land.
Meet all our creative experts. Whether you’ve got a knack for research, love telling stories, or want to get hands-on in creative workshops, there’s something for you! Join in and at the end of it all you’ll have helped capture and bring to life Knowsley’s heritage by contributing to an exhibition everyone can explore.
